Kafka and Basketball

Recently, my family and I went to a basketball game. We took the light rail for the first time and went Downtown to the arena. During that ride, I read the first chapter of Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. It was really good but very strange (in a good way). Check out my sister in the picture. She is really into mass transit.

While we were at the basketball game, Papa took us to this arcade. A lady gave me a token to play a game, and I tried to beat my brother at shooting hoops. I lost, but I made thirteen baskets, which is awesome. It was a fun night!

Cheery Pies

This past summer, my aunt and I went to Williams Sonoma and got these adorable little pie molds. My other aunt had given me a gift card for my birthday. Yes, I love my aunts! So yesterday, I made these cherry pies for the first time. They were delicious. I was a little scared that they wouldn't turn out very well, but they turned out wonderfully. Aren't they sooooo cute?

Holiday Greetings!

Thanksgiving came and went sooooo quickly. We stayed at home this year and had a great Thanksgiving dinner. We played football at the park, and now I'm sore. I think that's why I'm sore. We went to a hockey game and a basketball game this weekend too, which was totally awesome. The best part? The dinner.

It's time to decorate for Christmas. Today, my sister and I made pine cone door hanger thingies. They are cool and cute and very festive. We put them all over the house, and they smell like cinnamon.

Happy Holidays to all of you and thanks for reading my blog!

A Museum, a Musical, and a Pomegranate

This is my favorite painting from today's trip to the museum.
I liked the Grandma Moses one that I saw, too.

It was such a pleasant day outside in the gardens.

We saw this musical this afternoon. It was hilarious.

And now I'm eating my most favorite fruit in the whole world.

It was a good day.

Lunch With Mom

Today, I had lunch with my mom at a restaurant downtown. For an appetizer, we had a baked goat cheese spread that had caramelized onions, olives, tomatoes, and herbs in it which was DELICIOUS. We spread them on crostinis. Then we split two sandwiches with each other: a California club and an herb roasted chicken sandwich with artichoke hearts, more goat cheese, and capers. They were quite possibly the best sandwiches that I have ever had. Yes, they were that good.
